The simple solution is that the filters are so clogged that they will not allow for the normal flow of air through the system. Next, the refrigerant that is needed for the production of cold air has leaked out of the system to the point where cold air cannot be produced. The leak needs to located and repaired, and then more refrigerant added to the system in order for cold air to be produced. Another option is that the compressor has stopped operating. This compressor could have stopped working for several reasons. The condenser coils that surround the compressor could have become iced over. The system will have to be completely shut down while the ice melts. Once the ice has melted, the unit can be restarted. If this occurs again, be sure that a professional air conditioning service technician is called. Finally, the compressor could have just stopped working due to age, or due to conditions that caused it to overheat. In either case, again  a  professional technician will be needed to assess the situation.
